Itinerary

Day 1Combination of Jeep Tour & Short hiking "Classic Bedouin tour".

After receiving you at the Wadi Rum Visitors Center" I recommend you arrive at 10 am" , we will bring you back to Rum Village, where we will explain your itinerary in depth and answer any questions you may have, marking down key attractions and points of interest in your program on a map for you to keep during your adventures. If you come by rental car, you can park your car safely outside of our office in the village for the duration of your stay.

Even if you are going to use public means of transport, we can support you by sending more details about the best companies, timings and costs; in this case we need to know more details about your itinerary.

Your tour itinerary will begin:

  • With a visit to the Nabatean Temple where you will have the opportunity to see the ancient ruins.
  • From there we will go to the famous Lawrence's Spring, where Lawrence of Arabia reputedly washed during the Arab Revolt. There you can easily climb a nearby rock formation and take in the scenery and one of the best views of the vast landscape.
  • We will then drive to the Red Sand Dunes in Wadi Um Ishrin (there we will take you for sand boarding if you are interested).
  • Then on to Jebel Anafishiya, where you can see ancient Nabatean inscriptions in the rock.
  • We will then drive to the famous Red Sand Dunes of Wadi Um Ishrin, where you can climb the dunes or even sandboard if you wish.
  • From there, we continue on to the Barrauh Canyon where we will have lunch in the shade of a humbling cliff. After lunch, there is an optional short 1 km trek through the canyon.
  • We then drive to the base of the mountain that holds the Jebel Burdah rock bridge.
  • And then on to Um Fruth Bridge (which is about 20 meters high and a favorite for climbers).
  • And then through Wadi Kashkasheh Canyon to the most famous mountain in Wadi Rum.
  • Then we go to Jabel Khazali Canyon; just 15 minutes walking inside the canyon and you will see the oldest rock inscriptions in Wadi Rum from different civilizations (Nabatean, Thamoud, and old Islamic inscriptions ). You can find on the canyon walls many ancient rock inscriptions (see if you can spot the inscriptions of feet, and the lady giving birth).
  • We will then guide you to a magnificent place atop a red sand dune where you can watch the legendary Wadi Rum sunset.
  • Once the evening sets in, we will head back to our beautiful campsite where you will enjoy a delicious dinner, cooked in the traditional Bedouin way, and sip sweet Bedouin tea around our campfire before retiring for the night to your comfortable tents.
  • Recommended walk under the stars: After dinner, I highly recommend you take a short walk by yourself or with company under the star filled sky, if there is no moon you will see a lot of shooting stars. It's very safe to walk around the camp, but if you go far it may be very easy to get lost, as it is very easy to mix-up the directions.

Day 2Combination Easy Hiking to Jabel Al Hash & Jeep Tour

The next morning, after a delicious breakfast buffet, we will begin a 3 –4 hour Easy Hiking / scramble at Jebel Al Hash & Jeep tour in the afternoon & sunset place.

  • We will head south and drive 40 minutes through the Red Desert to an east/west ridge called Jebel Al-Hash.
  • You will be accompanied on an easy hike up the ridge to the top of the mountain. There you will discover magnificent views to the north and south.
  • The guide will then lead you along the scenic ridge for 3 to 4 hours and then bring you back down to the base of the mountain. After the trek, we will find a shady place to have lunch and Bedouin tea.
  • We will then drive you to the White Desert, close to the Saudi Arabian border.
  • After this, we will go to Elephant Rock and the nearby sand dunes.
  • We will then take you to Qatar Spring, a natural spring where you will see water coming directly from the rock.
  • Sunset Tour: After visiting the spring, we will drive you to very beautiful sunset, the the guide will prepare for you Bedouin tea in the fire, so you will enjoy drinking tea and watching the sun go behind the horizon then we will drive you back to the campsite for the night.
  • Dinner Time:Once the evening sets in, we will head back to our beautiful campsite where you will enjoy a delicious dinner, cooked in the traditional Bedouin way, and sip sweet Bedouin tea around our campfire before retiring for the night to your comfortable tents.

Day 3Camel Trekking for 4 hours.

After your traditional Bedouin breakfast in our camp, we will bring you to meet your camels and your camel guide.

You will have a brief tutorial on how to mount and ride your camel, ways to ride comfortably, and how to ensure you have the most enjoyable experience while trekking on the back of these incredible creatures.

Then you will start with the camels from the camp, we will take you around, trying to avoid tourist sites, taking you to quiet places, you will do three hours in the morning, then to a shadowy place to rest and have lunch, then another 3 hours to be ended in the Village.

What People Say About Us...

  • Great experience in the desert

Sited deep in the desert, but with warm showers and good food. Welcoming and professional, Achmed was a great host. Abdul was a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Take time out, take a tour, ride a camel, hike the desert...Highly recommended

  • Just perfect

Very nice hosts, Ahmed and his brothers are just so kind, funny and very interesting. They told us many stories and spent the evening around the fireplace chatting :) The too day tour was magical but we would have stayed for more days if we had the time. Wadi rum is marvelous unique place and the experience with rumstars was so lovely.

  • Splendid isolation!

Spent 2 nights at the camp and thoroughly enjoyed it. The tents are simple but comfy and the food was good and plentiful. A friend and I did a one day jeep excursion with Abdul, who was a terrific guide. It was a long day - 10 hours! - but we saw lots of sights in Wadi Rum, and Abdul was really informative about Bedouin culture and traditions. He also cooked us a great lunch. It was a great experience staying in a Bedouin camp in the middle of this incredible desert - loved the silence at night and the isolation. Would thoroughly recommend.
