Two Day Jebel Um Adami Hiking Tour
We start by jeep from Rum village and head for Jebel Um Adami, the highest mountain in Jordan. We will climb up the south eastern side, which is a fairly straightforward and simple climb. We will return down the other side of the mountain to take in views on the other side of the desert. The scenery here is different from the red sand of rum, and is not usually used by the Bedouins for their herds or any cultivation, and lies outside the protected area of Wadi Rum nature reserve. After coming down we will rest and have lunch and then go by jeep and a short uphill walk. We will reach a valley less than 300 metres from the border to Saudi Arabia and make camp there for the night.
The next morning we will go to the "no mans land" area. This is a scrambling climb, and requires a rope for protection (which will be provided by our guide). We will walk up the mountain where there are incredible views, then we will have lunch in a valley of red sand dunes. After lunch and rest we will continue along another crest arriving at the nighttime camp to watch the sunset and have dinner.
The following morning we head back to the village by Jeep.
If you would like to return to the village by camel instead, we can arrange a camel trek for you to do the final morning. This is just an additional 30JD per camel, and the trek back takes 2-3 hours. You will then arrive at Rum Village between 11:00AM and 12:00PM.
